Due to confidentiality restriction, I am not able to present all my work here.
Alongside Airbus Top Cockpit Operations team, I worked on research and development of new interactive features for the cockpit of the future. In this project, we had the opportunity to work on the relationship between the pilot and an entirely new immersive working environment.
How to improve pilot's interactions in a new immersive cockpit environment? How to facilitate the use of its control instruments and reduce cognitive workload? How to give him intuitive access to its information through an optimal understanding of his systems?
My job was to conceptualize and formalize solutions to improve pilot’s interaction with his embedded HMI systems. To do so, I worked with designers, engineers, ergonomics and developers to create functionalities answering pilots needs.
During these past two years, I had the opportunity to facilitate and participate in creative workshop sessions with team project stakeholders. Beyond my participation, I also worked on restitution and analysis of the results with ergonomics.
Creative workshops allowed us to position our design phases during sprints in order to target user expectations. These workshops were also an opportunity to challenge our choices established for some functionalities, to explore new ideas, or even to anticipate answers to upcoming needs.
We worked closely to the development team as well. They helped us implementing our new features into the flying simulator. With this process, we were able to test features with referring pilots directly into the immersive environment.
